One of our favorite Cape Cod walks just happens to be down the road from our office here in Truro. Just drive down to the end of North Pamet Road and you'll see a large white building which was formally a life saving station and now houses our youth hostel - just to the right is a parking area with signs and a map of the various tours. The best tour (in our humble opinion) is across the street which leads up to a large glacial dome (basically a big hill) known as "Bear Summit" which has two terrific look out spots allowing you to look out to the ocean to the east and out over the Pamet River Valley to the west. You can continue walking down the trail and go to the right which will take you to the beach. From here you'll want to turn right and return South, (unless it's a bit warmer than this post is being written, in which case you'll want to hang out on the beach). The first right takes on a narrow path that ultimately leads to North Pamet Road and your car. Click here to see a very informative on line brochure from the National Park.
